Ellen Loop, President called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
Role of coaches and board members was discussed. Coach Robby will write guidelines of board and coaches' roles.
Last year the general membership voted to raise the family registration fee to $100. It was proposed to raise the fee to $125 per family and $25 per child after one up to $150 total. This was proposed due to the increase travel cost for coaches to attend swim meets and (per parent request) having more coaches at the swim meets to better meet the needs of each individual swimmer AND to cut down on fund raising. This will be addressed at the next general booster club meeting.
It was moved and passed to increase the travel budget to $7000.
Swim caps -- every one will purchase their own cap and can get their name on it at an extra cost.
Francos will purchase jackets/awards for those swimmers who make sectional/national times.
T-shirts will be provided with the Fins registration fee.
Having no state t-shirt, just Finswear was discussed. Possible having 3 or 4 designs on white, blue, and blue & white shirts available in the front shop at Francos.
Also discussed was what kind of team suit the swimmers will be wearing. The coaches are looking into having Tyr royal blue swimsuits avaialable in the Francos shop and then parents can arrange to have the logo sewn on it, which would be optional. The swimmers may be able to wear any royal blue regular or tech suit for regular meets, but can wear any type/color of tech suit at the State meets. This was discussed as an option, no decision was made.
Robby will be attending a meeting in Lafayette with Louisiana Swimming, dates for 2008-2009 swim meets will be discussed at this meeting.
A New Parent Meeting was scheduled for 9/23/08 at 6:00pm. We will provide pizza and brownies for the kids.
A General Booster Club Meeting was tentatively scheduled for 10/09/08 at 6:30p.m.
The Board Meeting was adjourned at 11:30a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
