Francos 2012 Summer Swim School provides five levels of instruction to swimmers, all taught by trained instructors and supervised by experienced swimming professionals. In addition to learning stroke technique and swimming skills, swimmers will be taught water safety in each of the five levels.

Ducks - Level 1 (age 3+)
Swimmers will become acclimated to the water. They will learn to put their faces in the water, open their eyes underwater, and engage in supervised independent water exploration. Swimmers will be introduced to floating on their backs and stomachs.

Penguins - Level 2
Swimmers will learn the basics in gliding on their stomachs, floating on their backs, and rolling from their backs to their stomachs. They will learn to hold their breaths underwater for ten seconds and safely jump from the side of the pool. Swimmers will be introduced to the fundamentals of arm stroking and kicking.

Frogs -Level 3
Swimmers will learn to glide on their stomachs while kicking, to push off the wall on their backs and kick on their backs, and to swim underwater. They will become more proficient with the freestyle style stroke, and they will learn how to breathe on their left and right sides. The back crawl will be introduced.

Seals - Level 4
Swimmers will improve their balance, streamlining ability, stroking technique, and breathing ability so that they may be able to swim the freestyle stroke the width of the pool. Swimmers will be taught to dive from the kneeling position, to survival float, and to tread water. Instruction will continue for learning the back crawl. The elementary backstroke will be introduced.

Dolphins - Level 5
Swimmers will continue to improve their freestyle technique so that they may be able to swim the length of the pool. Swimmers will become more comfortable with the back crawl and elementary backstroke, and they will be introduced to the breaststroke and butterfly strokes. The skills of treading water and survival floating will be perfected. Swimmers will be taught the standing dive.
